Perfumes and Colognes are the Perfect Gift Idea |

I was sitting at a monthly lunch with a group of friends last week and we somehow got on the subject of gift ideas. We are all running later than usual with our gift buying, so we started bouncing ideas off each other as to what we thought were great gift ideas. I've always felt like perfumes and colognes are great gifts, while my friends said that they always find it difficult to give people perfumes and colognes as gifts. It sparked this discussion on whether we would like to receive perfumes and colognes from people and what we would do if we received perfumes or colognes that we didn't like.
I do think that perfumes and colognes are more difficult to buy for people we don't know. I personally wouldn't buy any for someone I worked with, unless I knew them well and considered them a friend. Some people are allergic to perfumes and colognes, while others only like one particular scent. I have been buying perfumes and colognes for years for family members, but then I know what they like and don't like, so I always find it to be an easy gift option if I don't have anything else on my list to get them.
Some of my friends asked me what my opinion was on regifting perfumes and colognes we receive that we don't like. I told them that I personally don't see anything wrong with regifting perfumes and colognes if it's something you can't wear, and can't return, because otherwise the person has essentially wasted their money for something that is going to be tossed in the trash. At least when perfumes and colognes are regifted, someone else has the opportunity actually enjoy the item.
This year I've also ordered a few bottles of perfumes just to have on hand for any last minute gifts that I may have forgotten. I ordered Claiborne by Liz Claiborne Women Eau De Toilette Spray (Glass Bottle) 3.4 oz from What A Superstore who can be found online at www.whatasuperstore.com. I know there are several people on my list who love it, and I truly do find it to be an excellent and easy gift. Now if I can get the rest of my shopping done, I'll be doing well. I usually have everything done by Thanksgiving weekend, but if I'm going to pull that off this year, I need to do more than shop for perfumes and colognes. |
