fragrance cosmetics, perfumes and colognesLooking into my medicine cabinet there are a couple ¾ empty bottles of cologne I bought in 8th grade. It has been about a decade since the days of Junior High but I’ll tell you what, squirting a spray of those old fragrance cosmetics still smell the same as the day I bought them. I’m not sure if there is a shelf life on fragrance cosmetics but if there is it is in line with how long a Twinkie is good for. Cologne is a product that costs around the same as a new pair of sneakers but lasts three times as long. A couple squirts has always worked for me, anything more then that and people can smell me ten minutes after I left the room. I think of fragrance cosmetics as part of someone’s identity.

When I first starting dating my girlfriend, I used to wear Ralph Lauren Silver, she loved how it smelled. It has been awhile since I have used that scent but every time I put it on, she will come over, flare her nostrils and say, “O, that reminds me of the old Sean, why don’t you wear this more?” in a sweet voice. I always laugh. It’s  fun to mix that scent in every once in awhile when going out to eat or something just to hear her same reaction. Perfumes and colognes leave a lasting impression.
